Runaway

If you’re worried that your child has run away, it’s important to quickly ask yourself a few questions to make sure that they remain safe.

My Child Leaves Home Abruptly After an Argument, What Should I Do?

It’s important to quickly assess the level of risk by asking several questions: does he or she simply need to get some fresh air to calm down, to regain his or her composure? Depending on their age, the time they leave and the context, is there a danger to their safety? Do you know the people your child has gone to for shelter? These questions will allow you to assess the risk and make better judgments and decisions about: is this really a runaway or does your child simply need to step back and distance themselves from the situation? At any time, if you fear for your child's safety and have not heard from them, you can call the police for help.
